The mission of Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker

Our mission is to create wonderfully original scrapbook paper and embellishments by focusing on our imagination and love for crafting. We are a company that retailers can count on to provide new and distinctive paper and embellishments that will excite their customers.

What we do and what we believe

At Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker, we create distinctive and original designs. Our designs are based upon two core beliefs which also serve as the foundation for our company and everything we do to support it.

We believe that scrapbooking, card making and crafting are always:

  • Authentic artistic expressions; and
  • Created with love

Our designs are driven by imagination; we strive to be different, not for the sake of being different, but to inspire you to express yourself in meaningful and fun ways. We mix elements from different sources, including styles, colors and materials. Our designs are genuinely eclectic. Our papers use vibrant colors with unique patterns and often contain irresistible characters. We are authentic in intention, action and results. We have achieved our goal if you are inspired (and tickled) when you see our paper.

How Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker came to be

home made cardsOf course it began with a love for scrapbooking. Many years ago Nikki became curious about scrapbooking which lead to a hobby, which developed into a passion, which gave life to a dream. Nikki began creating designs for papers and writing notes about ideas for embellishments. She filled up many notebooks with the hope of one day starting her own company. Her dream became real after Nikki’s husband, Dan, retired from the law firm he co-founded after 16 years of being a lawyer. Dan had desired to embark on a new career for many years. It was one of those moments in life where they knew a door of opportunity could be opened. Nikki and Dan asked, “If not now then when?” Their deep desire to bring the dream into reality became so strong they stepped through the door and together devoted themselves to making it come true.

About Willie-B

scrapbook paperWillie-B was a real dog named Willie B; that’s him on the left at a dog swim. Willie-B was a wonderful little fella with a personality much larger than his size. He loved food, walks, laps, long naps and wearing outfits. The logo is an actual drawing of him. His little body kind of resembled a bumble bee so the bee outfit was an easy choice. Nikki knew Willie B would be her company’s logo long before he lost his courageous battle with a heart condition. It is a fitting tribute to him that he will forever be the face of Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker... he would have liked that.

Nikki, Willie-B and Dan especially thank Heather for her dedication and hard work!

Heather McLaughlin-Schroeder

I live in Ozark Missouri with my wonderful husband Billy and adorable dog Oscar (Oz). I have always been into art in many forms but didn’t really find my stride until I got my first computer. Since then there has been no looking back, this is my media of choice. I graduated from Drury University with my degree in Graphic Design and have been working as a designer in different fields for over 15 years. I got into scrapbooking with my Godmother Charlotte. It is a great way for us to bond and express ourselves creatively. Over the years friends have said that I should make my own paper or design for a company but I never knew how to start. Meeting Nikki at a crop was an answer to two prayers… me to her and her to me and now I’m a proud Graphic Bee!

Lanie Brewster, Girl Friday

I’m going to start with a confession: I’ve never actually scrapbooked before. GASP! I got to know Nikki and Dan after I started dog-sitting for them. Actually, I was staying with their dogs when they called me from the road, overwhelmed with orders from their first CHA, and asked if I would like to start working for Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker. Of course I said yes. I currently live in Springfield, Missouri and love the fact that I get to bring my puppy, Lola, to work with me (she’s happy about that too). I also have a cat, Eli, but he prefers to stay at home. I have a Master’s degree in Theological Studies and I am currently completing a Master’s degree in English Literature. I enjoy working in such a creative environment and in an industry made up of friendly, passionate people. Here at the office, we joke that I’m the company’s Girl Friday because I do a little bit of everything. However, I mainly work with Dan in customer service, shipping and logistics, and sales and marketing. For the sake of the company, I rarely venture into the Art Department. It’s much safer in Nikki’s hands!

Final thoughts from Nikki

I sure hope you love scrapbooking like I do! If you are just getting started in scrapbooking... Welcome! There is nothing like sitting and scrapbooking, it is fun and fulfilling in so many ways! I love to make cards and 3-D (aka: altered) projects too! I tell all of my scrapbook friends that if they haven’t tried yet, card making and creating unique crafts projects are a must! People love getting home made cards especially with a scrapbook layout or unique craft project! So far, I have designed and created scrapbook paper, mini pads, clear stamps, chipboard albums, brads, flags and tabs; be sure and email me if you want to see something new created for scrapbooking! I have several new ideas for scrapbook paper and embellishments for our next lines; and I always keep all of you card makers in mind too!
